Its advantages lie in low cost, moisture resistance, corrosion resistance, and non-moldability. Some food-grade raw materials can meet drinking water filtration standards. The disadvantages are relatively obvious; the high-temperature resistance is weak, unable to adapt to high-temperature oily media, and high-viscosity liquid filtration is prone to clogging. This type of wire-wound filter cartridge is mainly used in RO pre-treatment of pure water equipment, municipal water purification, and general chemical acid and alkali solution filtration, and is the preferred basic filtration product of pp string wound filter cartridge for small and medium-sized enterprises.
2. Absorbent Cotton Wire-Wound Filter Element (Food Specialized Type)
The absorbent cotton filter element is made of refined absorbent cotton thread and is used with a stainless steel frame. This customized yarn depth filter cartridge features excellent temperature resistance which can reach 120°C, far exceeding the PP material. The fiber texture is soft and fine, with uniform filtration pore diameters, and the filtered fluid has no fiber residue, providing better safety than synthetic fiber yarn filter cartridge.
The disadvantage is limited corrosion resistance, only suitable for neutral and weakly acidic media, not for strong acid and strong alkali environments, and it is prone to mold growth in humid environments over a long period of storage. It is mainly used for clean fluid filtration in industries such as food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, and high-end electroplating, suitable for liquids such as wine, syrup, pharmaceutical solutions, and electroplating solutions with high cleanliness requirements, serving as an ideal alternative to ordinary polypropylene string wound filter cartridge.
3. Glass Fiber Wire-Wound Filter Element (High-Temperature Special Type)
The glass fiber filter element belongs to high-end special filtration consumables among various wire-wound filter cartridge products and has the most outstanding high-temperature resistance. The stainless steel frame model can withstand up to 300°C high-temperature, and it is also suitable for high-viscosity oils, organic solvents. The fiber pore structure is stable, with strong filtration capacity, and its interception effect on tiny colloids and fine particles is better than cotton thread and pp string wound filter cartridge.
This material is relatively expensive, with high brittleness, not suitable for equipment with frequent high-pressure impacts, and not resistant to strong alkaline media. It is mainly used in special working conditions such as petrochemicals, lubricants, high-temperature resins, and industrial cleaning agents, and is a dedicatedyarn depth filter cartridge solution for high-temperature and difficult filtration scenarios that cannot be handled by conventional yarn filter cartridge.
